Poppy Kolorit

Practical Application of 'Koloryt' Poppy Variety

The 'Koloryt' oilseed poppy variety, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS, is designed specifically for producers supplying the textile industry. In the context of Ukrainian agriculture, this variety provides the consistency required for industrial-scale cultivation, where uniformity and predictable maturation are the primary drivers of profitability.

Agronomic Advantages

• Uniform Maturity: The variety exhibits synchronized ripening of capsules, which is critical for mechanized harvesting. Reducing harvest losses is a key factor in maximizing the profitability per hectare.
• Industrial Standards: 'Koloryt' is bred to meet the specific quality benchmarks required by textile manufacturers. This predictability allows growers to secure stable supply contracts and plan their crop rotation with greater certainty.
• Environmental Adaptability: Developed for Ukrainian climatic conditions, 'Koloryt' performs reliably across the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones, responding well to standard intensive cultivation practices.

Choosing 'Koloryt' is a strategic decision for farms focused on industrial supply chains. While the crop requires strict adherence to weed control and protection protocols during the early vegetative stages, the resulting high-quality yield consistently justifies the investment in intensive agricultural technologies.
