Double Peony Poppy 'Cabaré' – an annual ornamental plant that quickly attracts attention with its large double flowers, 10–12 cm in diameter. The flowers resemble peonies and are available in a wide range of shades: white, pink, red, purple, and lilac.
The plant reaches a height of 60 to 80 cm (in some observations – up to a meter) and has a moderately branched bush with sturdy stems. Leaves are dark green and large, giving the plant a dense appearance. Blooming begins in spring and continues throughout the summer, usually from mid-June, lasting about three weeks. More than ten buds can form on a single plant, and after flowering, noticeable seed balls remain.
'Cabaré' is easy to grow: the plant prefers well-lit areas but tolerates weak partial shade; the soil should be fertile with good drainage. Care is minimal – moderate watering and removal of withered flowers, with fertilization during active growth if needed. The plant also reproduces by self-seeding, and new plants from seeds are often more powerful and larger. Thanks to simple care and bright ornamental qualities, 'Cabaré' is ideal for creating eye-catching flowerbeds both as a single plant and in group plantings, and can also be used as a central plant in mixed compositions.
