The plants are remarkably adapted to poor, rocky, and alkaline soil conditions. They possess deep taproots that anchor them firmly in the ground and allow access to subterranean moisture that remains unavailable to shallower vegetation.

Requirements for growth include high solar irradiance and excellent soil drainage. They do not tolerate prolonged waterlogging or high humidity, as these conditions frequently lead to root failure and overall plant decline.

In agricultural practice, Siebera is recognized primarily for its role in soil stabilization. By colonizing degraded land, these plants act as a natural defense mechanism against desertification and soil erosion in vulnerable pastoral regions.
