MIP Gladiator

Winter barley variety MIP Gladiator was registered in 2017 and developed by the Myronivska Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla, NAAN of Ukraine. This medium-maturing variety belongs to the pallidum group and is characterized by a vegetation period ranging from 242 to 258 days. The 1000-grain weight is 47–50 grams, indicating high grain quality and density.

The variety exhibits high winter hardiness, exceeding average levels, as well as resistance to lodging (7–9 points) and shattering (9 points). It also demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew (6 points), leaf spot, and dwarf rust (6–7 points). Additionally, the variety shows drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including Polissia and forest-steppe regions.

The genetic yield potential of this variety exceeds 9.5 tons per hectare, and state qualification trials confirm high productivity: from 7.01 to 8.38 tons per hectare across various regions of Ukraine. It is recommended for sowing in Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv Oblast, Obukhiv District. Variety MIP Gladiator meets agronomic standards and ensures stable production of high-quality harvests.
