Maybrit

The Maybrit winter barley variety is a high-yielding and stable winter barley, characterized by early maturity and belonging to the Pallidum group. It features high regenerative capacity, enabling rapid resumption of growth and development upon the first signs of sustained warming. Maybrit exhibits excellent winter hardiness and high drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Forest-Steppe, Polissia, and Steppe. Sowing period ranges from September 15 to October 15, with seeding rates varying from 270 to 350 germinable seeds per square meter.

This variety demonstrates high resistance to major barley diseases, including false powdery mildew, dwarf rust, and smut, as well as good resistance to lodging and shattering. Disease resistance is rated at 7–8 points, which contributes to reduced agrochemical costs and increased overall yield. High thousand-grain weight and high hectoliter weight (approximately 64.66 kg/hl) ensure high-quality grain with good size and density.

Maybrit is suitable for both fodder and cereal purposes and responds well to additional agronomic practices, such as the application of growth regulators in small quantities and fungicides, which enhance plant protection and increase yield. It is also recommended to use insecticides at early sowing to protect against pests. Plant height is medium, and lodging resistance ranges from medium to high. The potential yield of this variety reaches 8 tons per hectare, and under certain conditions may exceed 85 centners per hectare, making Maybrit a profitable choice for agricultural production.
