Legion

Legion is a hazelnut variety developed in Ukraine at the Dniester Experimental Station for Horticulture by breeder Fedor Tikhonovich Zatokov in 1995. This variety is characterized by high and stable yield and is adapted to the climatic conditions of the entire Ukrainian territory due to its high frost resistance and resistance to marsonia disease. The tree is vigorous with a large, rounded crown, which promotes good growth and fruiting.

The fruits of the Legion variety have medium size — from 10.6 to 12.0 grams, elongated-oval in shape. The kernel is light and easily separates from the shell, facilitating its use. The nuts ripen at the end of September, allowing timely harvest and use for both personal consumption and industrial production.

The yield of the tree at 7-8 years reaches 9.0–10.5 kilograms, making this variety attractive for gardeners and farmers. Due to its characteristics and reliability, Legion is an excellent choice for growing hazelnuts in various regions of Ukraine.
