Bukovynskyi 2 (8804524)

Grecian nut variety Bukovinский 2 — a high-yielding and disease-resistant variety developed in 1995 at the Transnistrian Experimental Station for Horticulture. The tree is strong-growing, with a large round crown, reaching up to 2.5 meters in height. Leaves are dark green, elongated with a pointed tip. This variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to marsoniosis, making it suitable for industrial cultivation under Ukrainian climatic conditions. The fruits of variety Bukovinский 2 have a light-brown color and a long-elliptical shape. The shell is thin and easily cracks, facilitating kernel removal. The kernel is creamy-colored, well-filled, and has high flavor qualities. The kernel also contains high levels of microelements, making the nuts beneficial for consumption fresh. Fruit-bearing begins on the 4th–6th year after planting, with ripening occurring at the end of September — beginning of October. Yield is consistently high, reaching 140–160 kg per mature tree in the best fruiting years (15–20 years). The variety is not demanding of soils, prefers sunny locations, but can grow in partial shade. Optimal planting time is spring and autumn. Due to its characteristics and qualities, Bukovinский 2 is widely used both in industrial cultivation and for personal consumption.
