Tulip Maureen Double

The Elegance of Late-Season Blooms

Maureen Double is a standout cultivar in the late double tulip category, prized for its ability to extend the spring garden show well after other varieties have faded. Unlike its taller counterparts, this hybrid features a compact, sturdy stem that remains upright even during the heavy rain and wind typical of late spring.

Key Features

• Peony-like Perfection: The bloom consists of dense layers of pristine white petals, creating a sophisticated, high-end look suitable for foreground plantings.
• Robust Health: One of the primary advantages of Maureen Double is its resilience. It shows excellent resistance to gray mold, downy mildew, powdery mildew, and oidium, making it a lower-maintenance option compared to more sensitive hybrids.
• Compact Profile: Its low stature makes it an ideal choice for edging, rock gardens, or container arrangements where height would be a disadvantage.

Who is it for?

Maureen Double is designed for gardeners who want a reliable, show-stopping white tulip without the constant fear of fungal outbreaks. It performs exceptionally well in temperate climates, provided the soil has good drainage—as is standard for all double-flowering bulbs, it does not appreciate waterlogged conditions. If you are looking for a variety that maintains its structural integrity and aesthetic purity throughout the entire blooming window, this is a top-tier selection.
