Tulip Cantata

Why Cantata is a professional choice for early forcing

Fosteriana tulip 'Cantata' stands out from its competitors due to its unusual bicolored palette, rare for this class. While most early varieties are monochromatic, this hybrid captures attention with its striking combination of a snow-white petal base and deep, intense red edges. Thanks to its low growth habit and sturdy flower stem, Cantata is ideal for dense plantings where taller varieties might suffer from lodging during wind or rain.

Agrotechnical Advantages

The main strength of this variety is its high natural resistance to pathogens that often plague tulips during the variable spring weather:

• Comprehensive Immunity: The variety demonstrates resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew, which is rare for Fosteriana tulips, significantly reducing the need for aggressive fungicide applications.
• Bulb Health: High resistance to root rot allows Cantata to overwinter successfully even in soils with less-than-perfect drainage.

Who is this variety for?

Cantata is an optimal solution for landscape designers working with borders and rock gardens. Due to its early flowering period, it kicks off the season when the garden still looks quite bare. For professional flower growers, this tulip is valuable for its predictable development and resilience in open ground. However, keep in mind that due to its short stem, it is not ideal for cut flower bouquets requiring length; its true domain is open flower beds and container gardening.
