A Sunny Touch for Your Garden: 'Radostny' Tomato

In the segment of determinate tomato varieties, the 'Radostny' (Joyful) cultivar from Agrofirma Poisk occupies a niche of reliable, predictable, and aesthetically pleasing crops. Developed by a team of breeders led by Nikolay Klimenko and Sergey Maksimov, this variety addresses the needs of growers seeking a balance between a low-maintenance bush and excellent shelf life.

Agronomic Profile

'Radostny' belongs to the determinate type, making it an ideal choice for both open-field cultivation and low-tunnel structures. The plant does not require complex pruning or staking, which significantly simplifies maintenance. The period from germination to ripening ranges from 100 to 120 days, allowing for successful cultivation in temperate climates.

Fruit Quality and Storage Potential

The main visual characteristic of the variety is the vibrant yellow color of its round fruits. Yellow-fruited tomatoes are traditionally prized for their higher carotenoid content and mild, pleasant taste. Beyond its gastronomic appeal, 'Radostny' stands out for its structural density. The ability to maintain marketable quality for over 30 days after harvest makes it an excellent option for those planning to sell their produce or store it for long-term use. This storage capacity is a rare trait for standard varieties, bringing them close to commercial hybrids in terms of durability.
