VOSKHOD VNIISSOKA

Tomato Voskhod VNIISSOKA is a medium-early variety of Russian breeding, intended for cultivation in open ground and under plastic coverings. The plant is determinate, semi-stemmed, making care easier and eliminating the need for staking. Leaves are short and green, and inflorescences are simple. Fruits have a round shape, smooth surface, and medium density. Immature fruits are light green, while ripe fruits turn into a rich red color. The weight of one fruit ranges from 92 to 105 grams, and the number of locules per fruit varies from 3 to 4. The variety was developed between 2012 and 2015 at the Laboratory of Selection and Seed Production of Solanaceous Crops VNIISSOK through crossing geographically distant parental forms. The maternal line was a medium-late high-yielding variety of the "Baron" type, known for its fruit density and resistance to viral and fungal diseases. The paternal line — the early-maturing compact variety "Argo" — possesses resistance to phytophthora, fruit cracking, and other diseases. Due to these traits, Voskhod VNIISSOKA exhibits high resistance to phytophthora, drought tolerance, and cold resistance. The period from mass germination to fruit ripening is approximately 100-110 days. Yield reaches 8-11 kg of marketable fruits per square meter or 2.1-2.8 kg per plant. Tomatoes are versatile: suitable for fresh consumption in salads, as well as for canning and pickling. Due to their quality and resistance to adverse conditions, the Voskhod VNIISSOKA variety is an excellent choice for private plots and garden plots.
