Tomato CALLANZO

Stability and Yield: Why Professionals Choose Callanzo

For commercial greenhouse operations, selecting a hybrid is all about balancing fruit weight with disease resilience. The indeterminate tomato Callanzo by Rijk Zwaan addresses these needs, offering growers a predictable output. Unlike many large-fruited hybrids, this variety is engineered to deliver a consistently high yield (up to 160-190 tons per hectare) while maintaining an excellent market appearance.

Key Advantages

• Genetic Resilience: The hybrid features robust built-in protection. It successfully resists verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, leaf mold (cladosporium), and tomato mosaic virus. This is critical for long growing cycles, where pathogen protection directly determines operational profitability.
• Market Standard: Its flat-round shape and 80-100 gram weight make Callanzo an ideal choice for the truss tomato segment and pre-packaged retail options. The deep red color remains vibrant even after extended logistics.

Who is this hybrid for?

Callanzo is for those who prioritize output and meticulous logistics planning. Its vigorous growth habit requires precise training and intensive fertilization, but it rewards the grower with fruits that resist cracking and boast an excellent shelf life. If your production targets retail chains where uniform fruit sizing is essential, this hybrid will become the cornerstone of your crop management strategy.
