Tomato variety Tournament is a medium-early determinate hybrid with a fruiting period from germination to the start of fruiting of about 90-95 days. Plants are strong, compact, 40-50 cm tall, with well-leafed, intensely green leaves of medium and large size. The root system of the tomato is active and well-developed, which contributes to good nutrition and plant resilience.
The fruits of the Tournament tomato are flat-round, multi-chambered, weighing up to 150 grams, with a bright red smooth skin. They are distinguished by high strength and transportability, making this variety convenient for transport and storage. The taste qualities of the fruits are high: they are juicy and sweet, allowing them to be used both fresh and for making juice, ketchup, and tomato paste.
Tomato Tournament is resistant to a number of diseases, including tomato mosaic virus, fusarium, and cladosporiosis, as well as well-tolerates extreme growing conditions. It is a warm-loving crop, recommended to be grown by seedling method with sowing seeds in early March and subsequent transplanting into open ground in the second decade of May. For obtaining a high and early yield, seedlings can be temporarily covered with plastic film until warm weather arrives. The best soils for cultivation are loamy with added organic fertilizers, as well as sunny areas protected from cold winds.
