Tomato Tavrida

The VNIISSOK Legacy: Gourmet Tomatoes

The 'Tavrida' tomato is a classic example of agricultural selection, developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK). This cherry tomato variety has established itself as a reliable choice for gardeners who value consistent results and proven genetics.

Agronomic Performance

This variety is designed to produce a steady yield of small, ornamental, and highly flavorful fruit. Whether grown in open fields or under protective cover, the culture demonstrates the following characteristics:

• Maturation: Mid-season variety, ripening in 100–120 days.
• Fruit Size: Miniature tomatoes weighing up to 20 grams.
• Color: Classic vibrant red.

Market Positioning and Use

Tavrida holds a solid position in the hobbyist vegetable segment. Its compact fruits make it ideal for whole-fruit canning, as the tomatoes maintain an aesthetic shape in jars without splitting during heat processing. Additionally, it is a favored choice for fresh consumption and culinary plating.

Choosing Tavrida seeds means opting for a variety backed by decades of research at the VNIISSOK institute. The stability of this strain allows growers to minimize risks, even in fluctuating climate conditions, ensuring a reliable harvest for both home use and small-scale production.
