Tomato TAIMYR

Technological Potential of the Determinate Tomato Таймыр

A breeding product by Rijk Zwaan, the Таймыр variety is a precision tool for intensive field vegetable growing, where rotation speed and uniform yield distribution are critical factors. As a determinate hybrid, it reallocates the plant's energy resources from continuous vegetative growth to reproductive development, allowing for the harvest of marketable produce within a tight timeframe of up to 90 days after transplanting.

Biological Parameters and Fruit Physics

• Yield Formation: The determinate growth habit ensures a compact bush structure, simplifying field maintenance and allowing for optimized planting density to achieve yields in the range of 50–70 tons per hectare.
• Fruit Morphology: The average fruit weight (80–100 grams) is a gold standard for the processing industry and retail. The round shape ensures high packing density, significantly reducing the percentage of mechanical damage during logistics.
• Quality Control: Rijk Zwaan’s genetics are focused on maintaining a uniform red color, which is critical for standardizing commercial batches.

The practical advantage of Таймыр lies in its predictability. In field cultivation conditions where agro-climatic risks are high, this hybrid demonstrates stable biological plasticity. Technical maturity is reached evenly, minimizing the number of passes required for harvesting and allowing for the effective use of mechanized solutions if specified in the farm's operational plan.
