Tomato SPRUT GOLD

Why «Sprut Zolotoy» is the Top Choice for Long-Term Storage

In the market of indeterminate cherry-type tomatoes, the «Sprut Zolotoy» hybrid from Sedek stands out for its unique shelf-life characteristics. Developed by originators Sergey Dubinin, Irina Dubinina, and Anatoly Lukyanenko, this variety was specifically engineered to address the common industry challenge of rapid post-harvest degradation in small-fruited varieties.

Key Advantages

• Superior Storage Life: These 20-40g fruits maintain their marketability for over 30 days, providing growers with significant flexibility in distribution and logistics.
• Disease Resistance: The variety features built-in immunity against Verticillium wilt, Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), and other viral mosaics, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications.
• Commercial Yields: With a potential yield of 70-100 tons per hectare, it is a highly productive asset for professional greenhouse operations.

Who Should Grow This Hybrid?

«Sprut Zolotoy» is optimized for commercial farmers who supply fresh markets and retail chains. Being an indeterminate variety, it requires a robust trellis system and consistent pruning. Its plum-shaped, golden-orange fruits are visually striking, making them highly desirable for premium culinary mixes and specialized packaging.

Considerations: This hybrid is performance-driven and requires high-intensity management. It demands precise fertilization and light management to reach its full potential. Without proper pruning, the plant may prioritize vegetative growth, leading to smaller fruit sizes and reduced overall yields.
