Tomato Sontsedar

Breeding Heritage and Market Positioning

The 'Sontsedar' tomato is the result of development by Ukrainian breeder Iob Naan. This variety has carved out a distinct market niche by balancing aesthetic appeal with commercial viability. As an indeterminate variety, it requires trellising and proper canopy management, but its yields of 70–100 tons per hectare make it a highly competitive choice for intensive farming operations.

Agronomic Profile

• Vegetation Period: Mid-season, typically maturing in 100–120 days from transplanting.
• Fruit Characteristics: Neat, plum-shaped fruits ranging from 20 to 100 grams, offering versatility for packaging and fresh market needs.
• Color Palette: Vibrant yellow and orange hues, which highlight the high beta-carotene content, making it a desirable option for the healthy food market segment.

A key advantage of 'Sontsedar' is its exceptional transportability. The firm structure of both the skin and flesh allows for long-distance shipping without compromising the product's visual quality—a critical factor for fresh produce suppliers and retailers. The variety has established a reputation as a reliable, high-yield solution for growers operating within the Ukrainian climate.
