Tomato Solido Spark

Growing Practice: Why Solido Spark is the Pro's Choice

When working with determinate tomatoes, the biggest challenge is finding the right balance between ripening speed and marketability. The Solido Spark variety from Spark Seeds practically solves this issue. The plant behaves predictably: the compact bush doesn't require complex pruning and handles temperature fluctuations well, which is crucial for open-field farming.

The Crop That Reaches the Market

The best thing about this variety is the firmness of the fruit. Weighing over 200 grams, the tomatoes don't soften or bruise in the crates. The fruit is four-to-six-chambered, meaty, with an excellent sugar balance. The color ranges from rich yellow to vibrant orange, ensuring it stands out on any retail shelf among standard red varieties.

Economics and Agronomics

• Timeline: technical maturity is reached within 90 days. This helps avoid the peak of late blight in August.
• Harvesting: the determinate habit ensures a uniform harvest, which reduces labor costs for seasonal workers.
• Field Maintenance: the variety responds well to drip irrigation. Due to its high productivity, it requires staking despite its compact size, otherwise, the heavy trusses will collapse onto the soil.

Solido Spark is a tool for those who sell to the fresh market and value their reputation. No "surprises" like cracked skin or poor shelf life. For a farmer, this means stable profit and minimal complaints from buyers.
