Tomato SIBERIAN MALACHITE

Genetic Potential and Agrotechnical Profile

The "Siberian Malachite" tomato is the result of selective breeding by Vladimir Nikolaevich Dederko, Olga Valentinovna Postnikova, and the Svetlana Ugarova farm. It is an indeterminate plant variety that requires systematic pruning and staking. Its high growth potential facilitates continuous fruit setting throughout the season, which is essential for reaching an yield potential of 70–100 tons per hectare.

Biometrics and Fruit Morphology

The defining characteristic of this variety is its unique pigmentation. During maturation, the fruit develops a distinct palette blending yellow and brownish-green hues, reminiscent of malachite stone. The weight ranges from a compact 80–100 grams to large specimens exceeding 200 grams. The spherical shape ensures excellent post-harvest shelf life and transportability, while the dense pulp structure minimizes cracking during fluctuations in soil moisture.

Agronomic Cultivation Nuances

• Vegetation Cycle: As a mid-to-late variety, it requires 120–130 days to mature. Utilizing the seedling method is recommended to optimize the fruiting window.
• Indeterminate Growth Habit: The vigorous stem growth necessitates the use of trellis systems. The plant efficiently distributes nutrients to the clusters, allowing for high harvest density.
• Market Application: With a balanced sugar-to-acid profile, Siberian Malachite tomatoes are highly prized both for fresh market sales and for premium artisanal processing.

By investing in certified seed material from originator V.N. Dederko, producers gain access to a stable genetic marker that provides predictable yields and a distinctive commercial appearance, highly sought after in the niche vegetable market.
