Tomato SIBERIAN GIANT

Growing the Indeterminate Giant

Working with the "Sibirsky Velikan" variety from Agrofirma Demetra-Sibir, you quickly realize you are dealing with a powerful indeterminate tomato that demands disciplined bush management. Since the plant does not limit its growth, you must be prepared for rigorous pruning and staking. Without a reliable trellis system, the weight of the massive foliage and heavy fruit will inevitably cause lodging.

Field Performance and Yield

With a ripening period of 100–120 days, this tomato fits perfectly into a mid-season production schedule. In practice, the fruits are impressive, consistently weighing over 200 grams. With proper irrigation and potassium-based fertilization, these fruits become dense, large, and show a uniform flat-round shape. The color range from vibrant red to deep pink makes them a highly marketable commodity.

Economic Efficiency

The primary argument for choosing "Sibirsky Velikan" is its exceptional yield potential, reaching 160–190 tons per hectare under optimal agronomic conditions. For an agronomist or farm owner, this translates into a high return on seed investment. Planting density must be carefully managed to ensure adequate airflow, which is critical for large-fruited varieties to prevent skin cracking during rapid growth phases.

• Plant type: Indeterminate (requires strict pruning and support).
• Fruit weight: Over 200 grams; requires robust staking.
• Growing cycle: 100–120 days.
• Agronomy: Demands intensive nutrition, especially during the fruit-setting stage.
