Tomato Sevance / Sevans

Consistent Yields of Large-Fruited Tomatoes

The Sevans hybrid from Monsanto is designed for commercial growers who prioritize consistent fruit size and marketability. As a determinate variety, it reliably produces fruits weighing over 200 grams, meeting the high standards required by the fresh market and retail chains.

Resilience and Crop Protection

With a maturation cycle of 100–120 days, Sevans fits perfectly into a well-managed production schedule. Its primary advantage is its robust genetic resistance profile. In intensive cultivation environments, this hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to pathogens that often threaten open-field crops:

• Verticillium and Fusarium wilt;
• Tomato spotted wilt virus and Tomato mosaic virus;
• Leaf mold.

This inherent resistance allows farmers to reduce the frequency of fungicide applications, effectively lowering crop protection costs while maintaining yield quality.

Commercial Performance

The flat-round, vibrant red fruits are built for durability and shipping, ensuring they reach the end consumer in excellent condition. Growers can expect yields ranging from 70 to 100 tons per hectare under optimal conditions. For agricultural enterprises focused on balancing fruit mass with plant health and virus defense, Sevans represents a dependable investment for the field.
