Tomato Popilnyansky

A Reliable Choice for Whole-Fruit Canning

«Popilnyanskyi» is a classic determinate tomato variety of Ukrainian origin, favored by growers who prioritize yield stability and processing convenience. With a 100-120 day maturity period and compact plant architecture, it is an efficient choice for managing production cycles in small and medium-sized farms.

Practical Applications in the Field

• Canning and Preserving: The dense, plum-shaped fruits weighing 80-100 grams are tailor-made for whole-fruit canning. They maintain structural integrity during heat processing, resist cracking, and fit perfectly into standard jars.
• Fresh Market Sales: Featuring a vibrant red color and uniform appearance, these tomatoes are highly marketable. Their good shelf life and ability to withstand transport make them a reliable option for supplying local produce stalls.
• Labor Efficiency: As a determinate variety, the plant does not require intensive pruning or complex support systems, significantly reducing labor input throughout the growth season.

Developed by the Kyiv State Agricultural Research Station, this variety is well-adapted to Ukrainian climatic conditions, providing resilience against environmental stressors. For agronomists, this translates to minimized crop risk during the vegetation stage. Whether you are producing for your own inventory of pickles and marinades or targeting the local market with consistent, high-quality fruit, this variety serves as a sturdy foundation for a productive season.
