Tomato Otlichnik

Working with "Otlichnik"

Working with the "Otlichnik" tomato variety from Semko-Junior has proven to be a reliable choice for commercial production. As a grower, you look for predictability, and this determinate tomato delivers exactly that. The plant structure is compact and easy to manage, reducing labor costs for staking and pruning, while consistently hitting yields of 70–100 tons per hectare.

Disease resistance and management

The primary benefit of this variety is its robust health profile. Its resistance to bacterial spot is a game-changer during wet seasons, ensuring the fruit remains marketable even under challenging weather conditions.

Yield and post-harvest handling

With a maturation cycle of 100–120 days, scheduling is straightforward. The fruits weigh in at a consistent 80–100 grams, which is the perfect size for fresh market sales and uniform canning. Their blocky-round shape and solid 4–6 chamber structure make them exceptionally durable. They handle transport remarkably well, meaning zero losses due to bruising or cracking on the way to the processor or retailer.

Ultimately, this is a low-maintenance, high-performance variety. From sowing to harvest, the seeds provided by Semko-Junior show excellent germination rates, resulting in a vigorous, high-yielding crop that keeps both the farmer and the customer happy.
