Tomato Major

Tomato 'Major' is a medium-early indeterminate hybrid characterized by high yield and resistance to major diseases. The plant is tall, reaching up to 1.8 meters in height, requires pinching, and is suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and in open ground with plastic coverings. The leaves are large, potato-like, green, and the flower clusters are simple without a bend. The time to maturity is approximately 105-110 days from germination to the appearance of the first fruits.

The fruits of tomato 'Major' are large, round, weighing from 150 to 300 grams, most often reaching 250-300 grams. Their color ranges from pink to bright raspberry, and the flesh is juicy and sugary with a slightly acidic-sweet flavor typical of tomatoes. The fruits have 5-6 chambers and contain about 6% dry matter. Due to their taste qualities and market appearance, the fruits are ideal for fresh consumption, salads, and juices. Harvested tomatoes tolerate long-term storage and transportation well.

The hybrid 'Major' is valued for its adaptability and good tolerance to temperature fluctuations, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. It is resistant to such diseases as verticillium wilt, blossom end rot, root rot, and powdery mildew. With proper agronomic practices, yield can reach up to 6.7 kg per square meter, making this tomato attractive for commercial production.
