LONG KEEPER

Long Keeper tomato is a late-maturing variety characterized by high yield and long-term storage capability. The plant reaches a height of 0.9 to 1.5 meters and forms clusters with 5-6 round fruits weighing 100 to 150 grams. The fruits have a light orange-red or pinkish-lustrous color with pink flesh and slightly flattened shape. This variety is resistant to major tomato diseases, which simplifies care and improves crop quality.

Long Keeper is especially prized for its flavor and unique ability to be stored for a long time. Fruits harvested late in autumn with a pale-pink blush can be stored in a dry, cool place without contact for up to four months, and when stored together with green fruits, they gradually ripen to acquire an orange-yellow hue. Thanks to these properties, tomatoes are suitable for long-term storage at home, as well as for pickling and canning.

To grow Long Keeper, sow seeds in March at a depth of 2-3 cm, with thinning in the 1-2 true leaf stage. Seedlings are transplanted into greenhouses in April–May and into open ground in June after the end of spring frosts. Plants require regular watering and fertilization, with a planting scheme of 30x50 cm. This approach ensures a late harvest that can be used fresh or for long-term storage.
