Tomato Leila

Yield Stability and Disease Resistance

The «Leyla» tomato, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, is a high-performance indeterminate variety designed specifically for greenhouse cultivation. Its standout feature is its impressive yield potential, which can exceed 190 tons per hectare, making it a reliable asset for intensive farming operations.

Product Specifications

• Maturity: 90-100 days (early ripening).
• Fruit Profile: Uniform pink cylindrical fruits weighing up to 20 grams.
• Internal Structure: Two-chambered, firm, ideal for high-quality fresh market packaging.

A critical advantage of «Leyla» is its innate resistance to powdery mildew. In greenhouse environments where this pathogen can devastate crops, this trait significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. As an indeterminate plant, it requires consistent pruning and staking to maximize harvest efficiency.

Who is this variety for? It is an excellent choice for producers specializing in cocktail tomatoes who prioritize fruit uniformity and shelf appeal. However, growers should be prepared for the labor intensity associated with harvesting small-fruited varieties, as this is a key operational consideration compared to large-fruited hybrids.
