Tomato Karmen

Consistent Yields in a Compact Package

The «Karmen» variety, developed by Gavrish and the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding (VNIIISSOK), is a determinate tomato specifically engineered for growers who prioritize consistency and produce quality. Despite its compact size, this cultivar delivers an impressive yield of 50-70 tons per hectare, making it a pragmatic choice for both small-scale farming and intensive field cultivation.

Core Advantages

• Robust Disease Resistance: The variety features innate resistance to tomato mosaic virus, fusarium wilt, and nematodes. This significantly minimizes the need for heavy pesticide applications, lowering production costs.
• Superior Logistics: With firm, 40-60 gram fruits, this tomato is built for transit. It maintains its visual appeal throughout the supply chain, ensuring high liquidity for retail markets.
• Optimized Maturity: With a growing season of 90-100 days, it offers a predictable schedule, allowing farmers to plan their harvests and market entry with precision.

Fruit Characteristics and Applications

The fruits exhibit a blend of plum and round shapes with a vibrant red color. Unlike many large-fruited varieties, Karmen shows excellent resistance to cracking. Its size and structure make it an ideal candidate for whole-fruit canning and pickling, as well as fresh market sales where uniformity is highly valued.

Why Choose Karmen?

This variety is designed for growers who need reliability above all else. It is forgiving of minor maintenance errors and meets the rigorous standards of professional agricultural enterprises regarding durability and post-harvest storage. If your business model depends on high-volume, uniform, and damage-resistant tomatoes, Karmen provides the technical performance required to succeed.
