Tomato SERA

Agrotechnical Parameters and Morphology

The «Sera» tomato is a hybrid resulting from the collaboration between the Gavrish breeding firm and the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK), specifically developed for greenhouse production of large-fruited tomatoes. It is an indeterminate hybrid that requires single-stem training and consistent staking to support its vigorous growth habit.

Productivity and Fruit Quality

Technical maturity is reached within 100–120 days after germination. The defining feature of this hybrid is its large fruit size, consistently exceeding 200 grams, which necessitates precise nutrient management during the fruit-filling stage. The vibrant orange color signifies a high carotenoid content, enhancing the nutritional profile of the produce.

• Transportability: the firm skin structure ensures the harvest can withstand transport over medium distances without significant loss of marketability.
• Plant Type: indeterminate, requiring regular sucker removal to direct energy toward optimal fruit development.
• Application: the hybrid excels in greenhouse environments, providing reliable yields of high-quality produce when standard temperature and irrigation regimes are maintained.

This hybrid is recommended for professional operations focusing on salad-type tomatoes where fruit size and physical durability are critical market requirements.
