Tomato Globus is a hybrid variety with a determinate growth habit, developed by specialists of LLC "Agrofirm Aelita". The plant features compact bushes up to 90-100 cm tall, making it suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings. The tomatoes are flat-round, weighing approximately 120 grams, with more than four chambers inside. They have a deep red color, strong aroma, and starchy flesh, giving them excellent flavor and high nutritional value, including pectins, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and organic acids.
The variety exhibits high resistance to diseases such as phytophthora, alternaria, fusarium, and tobacco mosaic virus, as well as to fruit cracking. Thanks to these qualities and proper agronomic practices, high yields can be achieved: up to 10-12 kg per plant in greenhouse conditions and up to 10.5 kg per square meter under plastic cover. Plants form two-stemmed bushes, which promotes good fruiting and ease of care.
For successful cultivation of Tomato Globus, sowing should be done in late March in seedlings, with transplanting when the first 1-2 true leaves appear. Seedlings are planted under plastic cover in mid-May and into open ground in early June, following a 50x40 cm planting scheme. The crop is light-loving, requiring an optimal daylight duration of 11-12 hours. Regular watering, loosening, weeding, and mineral fertilization are necessary for good growth. The preferred soil is light loamy or loam-sand mixture with pH 6-6.5. Adhering to these agronomic requirements ensures stable and high-quality fruiting of Tomato Globus.
