Etude

The tomato variety 'Etude' is a high-yielding cluster hybrid intended for cultivation both in protected environments (winter glasshouses and plastic greenhouses) and in open fields. The plants are tall with moderate leafiness, forming strong plants that produce fruits with excellent flavor. The fruits are round, red, weighing between 77 to 200 grams depending on growing conditions, with a multi-chamber structure and absence of green spot at the stem attachment. They feature a uniform shape and dense skin, ensuring good storage and transportability, as well as resistance to cracking.

The maturity period is medium — about 110-117 days, allowing for a stable yield throughout the season. The variety exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including cladosporiosis, verticillium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus, and fusarium wilt, significantly simplifying care and reducing crop losses. The yield reaches 30.2-33.0 kg per square meter, making this tomato attractive for commercial cultivation and personal use.

Cultivation agronomy includes sowing seedlings at the end of March — beginning of April, followed by transplanting when the plants have 1-2 true leaves. Seedlings are fed with complex mineral fertilizers 2-3 times and hardened off 7-10 days before transplanting. In open ground, seedlings are transplanted mid-May under temporary coverings or in June without coverings, following a planting scheme of 50x60 cm. Subsequent care includes regular watering, fertilization, loosening, and hilling, which promotes strong plant development and high fruit quality.
