Tomato ASTEROID

Reliability and Quality: Why "Asteroid" Remains a Professional Choice

In a market saturated with foreign hybrid seeds, the "Asteroid" tomato variety, developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS, holds a strong position. Its key advantage is the perfect balance between classic flavor and exceptional transportability for a mid-early variety. This makes it an optimal solution for farmers focused on both fresh markets and processing.

Agronomic Features and Productivity

The plant demonstrates balanced growth, which simplifies management in open-field conditions. The maturation period of 100–120 days allows for precise harvest planning. The flat-round fruit shape, with a weight of 150–200 grams, is considered the "gold standard" for consumer needs, making these tomatoes ideal for salads or whole-fruit canning.

• Transportability: The firm skin and flesh ensure the produce can withstand long-distance shipping without losing its market appearance.
• Stress Resistance: As a domestically bred variety, it is well-adapted to the climatic fluctuations of Ukraine, reducing risks during unstable seasons.
• Usage: Versatile application — from fresh market sales to home canning.

Who is this variety for? "Asteroid" is most effective for growers prioritizing predictable results without the high costs associated with expensive imported hybrids. It is a reliable "workhorse" that does not require complex agrotechnologies but responds well to standard quality care and timely fertilization.
