Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.) is a garden variety developed by the Crimean Agriculture Research Institute. The variety has identifier 8456347 and was approved in 2015. The plants are characterized by green leaf coloration and yellow-red flower coloration, with an average height of about 101 cm.
The vegetative period lasts approximately 129 days from regrowth to the beginning of flowering, while the yield of above-ground mass under favorable conditions reaches 15.3 t/ha. The mass contains 0.29% essential oil (on fresh mass) and 0.93% on absolutely dry mass. The oil contains 46.8% elemicin, and the total collection of essential oil is about 40.8 kg/ha.
Tarragon is widely used in cooking as an aromatic spice.
