Corn GSS 8529 F1 is a medium-late, high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn type SH2 (super-sweet), developed by the seed company Syngenta Seeds from the Netherlands. The vegetative period is approximately 83 days, allowing the hybrid to be used for both main and late harvests. Plants reach a height of 2.8–2.9 meters, feature a strong and robust structure with large leaves and a well-developed root system, ensuring their adaptability to various soil types and adverse growing conditions.
The corn cobs are cylindrical, up to 22 cm in length and about 5 cm in diameter, with 18 rows of kernels, each 12 mm deep. The weight of one cob is 250–280 grams. The kernels are richly yellow, shiny, and smooth, possessing a very sweet and juicy flavor, as well as a significant amount of vitamins and beneficial microelements. Due to the dense leaf coverage of the cobs, they are well protected from mechanical damage and maintain their market appearance.
Hybrid GSS 8529 F1 exhibits high resistance to fungal and bacterial diseases, including rust, bacterial blight, and yellow mosaic virus. This makes it a reliable choice for cultivation in open ground. Additionally, the corn is ideal for canning and processing, as the kernels do not change color during long-term storage or exposure to air, ensuring high product quality in the fresh produce market and industrial processing.
