SX 2563 is a high-oleic sunflower hybrid intended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe regions of Ukraine. It belongs to the medium-maturing varieties with a vegetation period of 106-110 days and reaches a height of 160-180 cm. The plants form large black seeds and large flower heads, contributing to a high yield potential of up to 48 centners per hectare. The oil content of the seeds is 47-49%, and the oleic acid content reaches 88-92%, making this hybrid particularly valuable for producing high-quality oil.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to various diseases and pests, including new strains of downy mildew (resistance scale A-E), fusarium, white mold (10 points), powdery mildew (9 points), and rust (8 points). Thanks to these characteristics, SX 2563 tolerates drought well and demonstrates stable yields when grown under various soil-climatic conditions.
For effective cultivation, modern plant protection technologies are recommended, including treatment with herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl to control broadleaf and grassy weeds. The hybrid is stable on all soil types and has no rotation restrictions when applied after pre-emergence herbicide control. All these features make SX 2563 a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and productive sunflower crops.
