Sunflower SX 2314

Technological potential of SH 2314: focusing on profitability

The SH 2314 sunflower hybrid by 'Solaris Gibridy' is a solution for farms focused on stable yields in temperate climates. The key value of this genetics lies in a balanced approach between development intensity and adaptability to challenging field conditions.

Protection system and tolerance

A decisive factor when choosing SH 2314 is its genetic resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (the 'Euro-Lightning' system). In practice, this means the ability to effectively combat difficult weeds such as broomrape (all existing races), as well as a wide range of grasses and broad-leaved weeds. Utilizing this technology clears the field of competitors for moisture and nutrients, providing the plant with an optimal feeding area.

Morphology and quality indicators

• Vegetation period (100–110 days): Classified as a mid-early hybrid, which allows for scheduled harvesting and avoiding late autumn rainfall.
• Oil content (50–55%): A high oil concentration in the seeds directly impacts purchase pricing, making this hybrid a commercially profitable asset.
• Plant height (120–130 cm): The compact plant structure simplifies the mechanical harvesting process and reduces threshing losses. The medium-sized head ensures uniform seed maturation, which is essential for producing high-quality uniform grain.

The compact dimensions of SH 2314 promote better airflow through the crops, reducing the risk of fungal diseases during the grain-filling period. The uniformity in height ensures consistent load on combine harvester components, minimizing losses during header pass.
