Surinat is a medium-maturing sunflower hybrid developed according to modern selection-genetic programs to enhance resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides, particularly tribenuron-methyl. It belongs to the group of medium-early or medium-maturing hybrids with a period from emergence to physiological maturity of about 112-120 days. Plants reach a height of 170-180 cm, have a slender head with a diameter of 22-25 cm, and seeds are black and elongated. The oil content of the seeds is approximately 49-51%, ensuring high oil yield in oil production. The Surinat hybrid features high yield potential up to 44-50 c/ha, making it attractive for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions. It exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases such as false powdery mildew, fomopsis, fomosis, and rust, as well as tolerance to downy mildew, including races from A to G. Additionally, Surinat demonstrates high drought tolerance and resistance to lodging and shattering, contributing to stable yields under challenging climatic conditions. The hybrid is designed for use in modern cultivation technologies such as Sumo and ExpressSun™, enabling effective weed control and increased crop productivity. Thanks to its combination of high oil content, disease resistance, and resilience to adverse conditions, Surinat is a reliable choice for producers aiming to obtain high-quality and high-yield sunflower crops.
