IMI AB 18 PR is a sunflower hybrid with high yield and resistance to adverse conditions. The vegetative period of the hybrid ranges from 109 to 116 days, allowing it to be grown in various climatic zones, including steppes and forest-steppes. Potential yield reaches 47 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds varies from 47% to 49%, making this hybrid attractive for oilseed production. Seed moisture content is within 22-24%, ensuring high raw material quality.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, such as rust, false powdery mildew, sclerotinia, fomopsis, and white rot. In addition, IMI AB 18 PR possesses genetic resistance to five races of parasitic downy mildew (A, B, C, D, E), significantly reducing yield losses. Special attention has also been given to resistance to sunflower moth and drought, enabling successful cultivation even in hot and dry conditions.

IMI AB 18 PR is recommended to be grown using the "EuroLighting" technology — a cultivation system based on the application of herbicides from the imidazolinone group. This technology provides effective weed control, including downy mildew, and allows for minimal soil tillage. Herbicides containing imazapir and imazamox ensure high selectivity and safety for the hybrid, contributing to stable and high yields when recommended agronomic practices are followed.
