The hybrid sunflower Furor AM is a high-yielding parental line designed for hybridization with paternal lines to produce high-quality oilseed products. Developed based on the maternal line AM 2 A and paternal line AM 111 B, this hybrid is ideally suited for the classical technology of sunflower cultivation. It has been officially registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2021 and is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. Parental components are sown simultaneously, simplifying sowing agronomic processes.
Furor AM is characterized by high yield, which reached 36.0 centners per hectare on 500 hectares without irrigation, exceeding the average yields of regionally tested hybrids by 14-25% in different years. The potential yield of the hybrid ranges from 3.7 to 4.6 tons per hectare. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high oil content in seeds — from 52 to 53.1%, ensuring oil collection within 1.5-2.0 tons per hectare. Seed moisture content is at the level of 22-23%, facilitating efficient processing of the harvest.
Special attention has been paid to the hybrid’s resistance to adverse factors. Furor AM demonstrates high drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for regions with limited water supply. It is also resistant to downy mildew and false powdery mildew, reducing the risk of yield losses and the need for intensive use of protective agents. Due to these qualities, Furor AM is widely used in the production of oil and fat products, ensuring a stable and high oil output.
