Sunflower Fighter

Reliability and Field Performance

When selecting seeds for a farming operation where minimizing risk is paramount, the 'Boyets' sunflower variety, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production, serves as a highly predictable asset. This classic variety simplifies field management as it does not require complex herbicide application schemes.

Field Operation and Handling

The 100-110 day vegetation period allows for precise harvest planning. With a plant height of 160-170 cm, the crop is well-suited for standard harvester headers; operators spend less time adjusting equipment for biomass flow, which effectively reduces fuel consumption and wear on the chopper. The uniformity of the stand is a key operational benefit, ensuring the entire crop reaches maturity at the same time.

Disease Resilience

The core advantage of 'Boyets' is its natural tolerance to fungal complexes, specifically white and gray rot. These diseases are often the primary cause of yield loss and require expensive fungicide interventions. 'Boyets' reduces your input costs by offering strong innate resistance, protecting your yield even in high-moisture conditions or during unpredictable seasonal weather shifts.

Economic Viability

Boasting an oil content of 45-50%, grain from this variety is highly sought after by processing plants. The stability of its quality markers during storage ensures the grain maintains its value throughout the logistics chain. This is a variety for growers who prioritize proven genetics and steady returns without the need for high-risk, experimental cultivation practices.
