Spinach Yakalo

Genetics from a Global Leader

The 'Yakalo' spinach variety is the result of extensive breeding programs conducted by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan Zaadteelt en Zaadhandel B.V. Its introduction to the Ukrainian market in 2026 marks a significant milestone for professional vegetable growers focused on high-tech production. Rijk Zwaan is renowned for its systematic approach to developing hybrids that are resistant to specific pathogens and well-adapted to the shifting climatic conditions across Europe.

Status and Regional Adaptation

The official state registration of the variety in 2026 confirms its compliance with the rigorous quality standards established in Ukraine. 'Yakalo' was included in the national registry following a series of trials that demonstrated its stability and productivity across local soil and climatic zones. Unlike many market alternatives, this variety is optimized for both greenhouse and open-field cultivation, serving as a versatile tool for continuous production cycles.

Market Positioning

Within the professional seed market, 'Yakalo' occupies a premium niche. Its breeding focuses on solving the primary challenges faced by spinach producers, ranging from bolting resistance to the development of a uniform leaf rosette suitable for mechanized harvesting. With the support of Rijk Zwaan, farmers gain access not only to high-quality seed material but also to proven cultivation technologies that minimize risks in intensive farming environments.
