The MAMONT soybean variety is a very tall mid-ripening variety with pronounced signs of gigantism, reaching plant heights of up to 180 cm. This variety was bred through individual selection from the hybrid combination Vilana × Pin GD and is distinguished by large seed size, high 1000-seed mass (165–195 g), and increased mechanical stem strength, ensuring resistance to lodging even under excessive moisture. A high positive response to additional moisture manifests in increased plant height, number of nodes, pods, and seeds, as well as increased yield.
Mamont is characterized by a deep root system and high responsiveness to moisture, making it particularly suitable for cultivation in the southern foothill and central zones of Krasnodar Krai, as well as in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions of Russia with irrigation. The potential yield of the variety reaches 58 c/ha, with seed oil content at 22% and protein content at 42%, making it valuable for oil and protein production.
The Mamont variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as non-lodging characteristics, which facilitates agronomic practices and increases yield stability. Thanks to its unique characteristics and adaptability to various growing conditions, this variety is a promising choice for agricultural producers seeking high and quality soybean yields.
