PODMOSKOVYE

The "Podmoskovye" lettuce represents a mid-early variety of headed lettuce, developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production. It is characterized by a semi-erect leaf rosette with a diameter of 22–30 cm and a round head of medium density weighing from 213 to 255 grams. The lettuce leaves are of medium size, green in color, and kidney-shaped. The variety is distinguished by stable yield, reaching 1.9–2.5 kg per square meter, while the period from mass germination to economic maturity ranges from 41 to 73 days.

One of the key features of the "Podmoskovye" variety is its high resistance to bolting and marginal burn, making it a reliable choice for growing in spring-summer rotation in open ground. The lettuce is well adapted to the climatic conditions of the central region of Russia and the Moscow Region, where it is popular among gardeners and vegetable growers. The seeds of the variety are characterized by good germination and meet high quality standards.

For successful cultivation of "Podmoskovye" lettuce, it is important to ensure fertile and moist soil with sufficient nitrogen and potassium content. The plant is cold-hardy: seeds begin to germinate at temperatures of 4–5°C, seedlings withstand frosts down to -2°C, and adult plants down to -6°C. With proper care, including planting, fertilization, and protection from pests and diseases, this variety is capable of providing a stable and quality harvest with excellent taste qualities.
