Description Lollo Bionda
Lollo Bionda lettuce is an early-maturing semi-head variety with a lush, loose rosette and curly green-yellow leaves. The average weight of one head varies from 200 to 500 grams, and the yield per square meter can reach up to 3 kg. The lettuce leaves are juicy, tender, with a distinct nutty aftertaste and no bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for preparing salad mixes, appetizers, and side dishes. The variety is rich in vitamins A and C, calcium, potassium, iron, and folic acid, which enhances its nutritional value.

Growing Lollo Bionda is possible both in open ground and in greenhouses from spring to late autumn. The optimal temperature for growth is +18-20ºС. Seeds can be sown directly into the soil or via seedlings, which reduces the maturity period by 10-15 days and improves plant resistance to adverse weather conditions. For successful growing, it is important to ensure regular moderate watering, keep the soil moist without over-wetting, and perform loosening and weeding to remove weeds. It is also recommended to apply mineral fertilizers or use herbal infusions for feeding.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to common diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, internal necrosis, as well as lettuce thrips and bolting. The plant is sensitive to shading and overcrowding, so to form a quality crop, it is necessary to observe optimal sowing rates and ensure sufficient space between plants. Harvest usually occurs 40-55 days after sowing, depending on the growing method and conditions.
