Safflower ZAVOLZHIE 1

Zavolzhsky 1: A Resilient Safflower Variety for Drylands

For agricultural producers operating in moisture-stressed regions, the Zavolzhsky 1 safflower variety offers a stable solution for crop rotation diversification. Developed by leading Russian research centers, this variety combines dual-purpose utility with robust natural resistance to environmental stressors.

Key Agronomic Strengths

The primary advantage of Zavolzhsky 1 lies in its genetic immunity to common fungal pathogens, specifically fusarium wilt and safflower rust. This trait significantly reduces the need for frequent chemical interventions, lowering the overall production cost per hectare.

• Oilseed Excellence: High oil output makes the harvest highly sought after by processing facilities.
• Fodder Versatility: Beyond oil extraction, the variety serves as a valuable forage component or feed additive, providing essential protein for livestock operations.

Field Performance and Application

In practice, Zavolzhsky 1 is prized for its deep root system, which allows the plant to thrive during periods of drought by accessing moisture reserves deep in the soil profile. For growers, this translates to consistent yields even in challenging weather cycles. Furthermore, the variety is known for excellent crop uniformity, a feature that ensures efficient harvesting operations and minimal seed loss during combine processing.

By choosing this variety, farmers gain a resilient, low-maintenance crop that fits perfectly into integrated farming systems focused on maximizing output while mitigating climatic risks.
