Safflower variety «Krása Stupinskaya» is an annual herbaceous plant with a well-developed taproot system, successfully cultivated in the Moscow region and other regions of Russia. It features medium height at flowering and a 125-day vegetation period, making it convenient for mechanized harvesting. Seeds are white, weighing 49.8 g per 1000 pieces, with a mass of about 8 c/ha.
Key characteristics of the variety include high fat content in seeds – 37.5% (from 32 to 38%) and 15.7% protein. Oleic acid is present in average amounts. Seeds have a panzeriness of 25%, ensuring good preservation during transportation and storage. The variety is resistant to shattering, drought, and waterlogging, and is not susceptible to diseases and pests.
«Krása Stupinskaya» is used as a cover crop, phyto-sanitary, phytomeliorative, feed, decorative, and promising oilseed crop. The green mass of the plant helps reduce weediness of subsequent grain crop seeds, while seeds are used in the food and cosmetic industries, as well as in medicine for preparing medications.
