SU Ivar winter rye hybrids are high-yielding varieties adapted to various soil-climatic conditions in Ukraine. They are characterized by high drought resistance, winter hardiness, and resistance to lodging and lodging, ensuring a stable yield even under adverse conditions. The plants have medium height, which facilitates harvesting and reduces losses during grain collection.
SU Ivar varieties have medium protein content and improved technological properties, such as higher-than-average viscosity amylograph and moderately high gelatinization temperature, which positively affect grain quality. The number of seeds per ear is above average, contributing to high yields reaching 60 centners per hectare when recommended seeding rates are followed.
The recommended sowing period for SU Ivar hybrids is from September 20 to October 10 with a seeding rate of 200-250 seeds per square meter (65-75 kg per hectare). Due to their high plasticity regarding sowing dates and resistance to diseases and pests, these varieties are suitable for cultivation throughout Ukraine, ensuring a reliable and stable yield in various agroclimatic zones.
