Rose Spogadi

The Excellence of Ukrainian Breeding

The 'Спогади' (Memories) rose is a flagship variety developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Unlike many imported varieties that struggle with local soil and weather fluctuations, this rose is bred for resilience, offering growers in the region a reliable and highly adaptive option for their landscapes.

Botanical Profile and Growth Habits

This variety is classified as a vigorous grower, reaching heights between 120 and 200 cm. It is a structural plant, designed to command attention rather than hide in the background. Key specifications include:

• Flower Size: Impressive blooms measuring 10–15 cm in diameter.
• Fragrance: A light, subtle scent, making it an excellent choice for patio settings where heavy aromas might be overwhelming.
• Spacing: With a bush width of 70–100 cm, it requires sufficient airflow and space to thrive.

Ideal Landscape Application

For those looking to create height in a garden, 'Спогади' is an optimal choice. It serves as an excellent backdrop or a natural barrier in garden zoning. While some delicate European tea roses require constant coddling, this variety stands out due to its robust nature. The primary trade-off is its size: it requires proper seasonal pruning to prevent it from outgrowing its designated spot. It is the perfect match for gardeners who want a high-impact, low-fuss plant that matures beautifully year after year without needing specialized winter protection.
