Rose MELONI

'Meloni' Rose: A Versatile Choice for Landscaping and Cut Flowers

The 'Meloni' rose, developed by the 'Novaya Gollandiya' nursery, is a remarkable breeding achievement that bridges the gap between shrub roses and climbing (climber) varieties. For agricultural holdings and professional nurseries, this cultivar is particularly valuable for its versatility: depending on pruning techniques and support systems, it can be grown as a robust bush or trained vertically on trellises and arches.

A standout feature of 'Meloni' is its high resistance to powdery mildew. In humid climates or high-density planting schemes, where standard varieties often succumb to fungal diseases, this cultivar maintains its health and vigor. This characteristic significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, contributing to the overall cost-efficiency of commercial rose production.

Agronomic Advantages and Practical Application

• Cut Flower Potential: With its densely double flowers and vibrant pink hue, 'Meloni' is highly sought after by floristry businesses. The blooms maintain their structure exceptionally well after harvest, making them a premium product for the local floral market.
• Vertical Landscaping: As a climbing rose, it is an ideal candidate for decorating arches and pergolas. Its vigorous growth habit allows for rapid coverage of structures, creating dense, attractive green walls.
• Garden and Bedding Use: As a shrub, 'Meloni' develops a voluminous, well-foliaged plant that integrates beautifully into mixed borders and mass planting schemes.

The variety blooms in successive waves, ensuring a consistent decorative presence throughout the growing season. Field experience demonstrates that 'Meloni' requires relatively low maintenance, while its superior disease resistance makes it a reliable asset for landscape professionals and farmers seeking long-term performance and sustainable cultivation results.
