Strawberry DrisStrawThirtySix

A Benchmark for Early Season Berries by Driscoll’s

For professional growers, choosing the right variety is a constant search for the balance between early market access and post-harvest shelf life. The "DrisStrawSortiSix" from the American breeder Driscoll’s offers exactly what is needed for a rapid season start. As a non-everbearing variety, it directs all its energy toward producing a massive, early harvest, allowing growers to secure fruit just 35–40 days after the start of the growing cycle.

Key Advantages: Logistics and Marketability

• Transportability: The berry is characterized by high density, a critical factor for commercial supply chains. It resists damage during transit and maintains an ideal conical shape.
• Versatility: This variety performs equally well for the premium fresh market, industrial processing, or deep-freezing, all while maintaining its vibrant bright red color.
• Harvest Efficiency: The distinct conical shape and firm skin ensure a faster harvest, significantly reducing the percentage of damaged fruit.

The standout feature that sets "DrisStrawSortiSix" apart from its competitors is the combination of an ultra-early onset of production with a prolonged fruiting period. This provides farmers with a competitive edge, allowing them to remain in the market longer while others with shorter fruiting windows have already concluded their season. This variety is optimal for operations focused on a balanced sales model, where production is split between retail distribution and processing facilities.
