Turan

The winter rapeseed hybrid Turan is a high-yielding, high-oil-content variety intended for intensive cultivation. It belongs to type 00, meaning it contains no erucic acid and low glucosinolate content (17-18 micromol/g), making its oil high quality and in demand. Turan has a medium-early maturity period and high winter hardiness (4.5 points), ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Average yield in the North Caucasus region is around 23.8 centners/ha, with maximum yields reaching 55 centners/ha at grain moisture of 8%.

The hybrid demonstrates excellent resistance to major diseases such as phomopsis and sclerotinia, as well as high drought and frost tolerance. Plants develop at moderate speed after germination and emerge in mid-late spring. Stems reach medium height, possess high strength and resistance to lodging, allowing direct threshing without prior cutting. Additionally, pods are not prone to cracking during the pre-harvest period, minimizing seed loss.

Turan is adapted for cultivation under both intensive and extensive technologies, making it a versatile choice for various agronomic conditions. Seeds are treated with the fungicides fludioxanil and metalaxyl-M, further enhancing their disease resistance. High oil content in seeds (approximately 44.1%) and favorable agronomic traits make this hybrid attractive for seed and oil production.
